Around The Corner

*So bummed that the first winter storm is just around the corner and November isn’t even here.

*So missing the beautifully cozy cool shores of Emerald Isle and OBX when stress just rolled over my shoulders like the warm waves of the Atlantic.

*So missing the Smoky mountain trails where leaves remained whimsy until late November and hiking was a weekly adventure.

*So missing the ambiance, essence, environment, and the all around excitement that has inspired many novels, designs, and creative directions.

*So not happy with myself for not taking more photos at the time, yet I was so focused on enjoying the colors, road trips, hikes, and moments, that sharing just wasn’t important or interesting at the time.

*But now that I live in a place that doesn’t feel comfortable, inspiring, or exciting (just a personal sentiment since the asthmatic/allergy monster has returned at full force, turning me into a toxic, painfully foggy weakling who can’t stagger up the stairs without desperately reaching for inhalers; now I remember why the west coast and I are truly incompatible; sad sad:( But I have pieced together a whimsy fall magazine with the few photos of the east coast that I do have. Every time that I finally quit obsessing over my tragically failed novels & get back to sketching, framing, and styling, I always wonder why I’m not working for a magazine or company. I remember how much I love coming up with my own designs and color ways. Unfortunately, at some point in my life I thought it would be fun to write novels, and that was my first terrible mistake that led to years of discouragement. To more do-able goals & a new year full of colorful palettes! xoxo, Paperwaif

Aryn Lane is the creator of Paperwaif, a shelf featuring contemporary novels, digital publications, and style ideas. As a child, she ran around the family farm and was given the opportunity to work at a young age, offering her plenty of sunshine and inspiration. Always one to stay busy, she's always tackling new projects and trying to figure out how to move forward while prioritizing the daily chaos. Combining her ideas and passions, she dove into fashion design and enjoyed designing collections for her paper muses, but quickly realized that she prefers the quieter environments and country aesthetics. Honing her skills from college, she has actively pursued writing and digital designs while continuing to admire the evolving industries. Paperwaif has offered her a place where she is able to combine her favorite pastimes like digital designs and whimsical stories, pressing them into one setting that can be shared with an audience.
