living in a frame of style & design
So…. Obviously I’m terrible at connecting, posting, sharing, or even caring, though I can’t shake my designer mind which is so disconnected with anyone around me that I’m wondering if anyone else out there likes style design at all. Where are all of the fashion obsessed individuals that just can’t stop posting? While not really liking fashion or style just to look the part or appear as though I have it all- really can’t stand shopping or sharing my finds- I’ve never been able to ignore my passion for color, textiles, print layout and design, and any element relating to arts despite everyone else trying to convince me that the arts are NOT COOL and not a wise choice for stability. For me, style and fashion has always been about creating collections, stories, and lines that represent a specific direction, then taking that direction and creating a print layout that expresses that style story. Of course, attending fashion design school, we weren’t taught every element of Creative Cloud and I’ve had to gain the skills myself while writing fiction novels that fail every time. Such a wonderful experience and life at that matter…. I’m well on my way to a complete dumpster fire, the worst part being that nobody understands nor cares how much time and effort goes into writing novels and designing digital layouts. Obviously, in the perfect world, I would be working somewhere for someone and I would not be struggling through this all on my own. Unfortunately, life has choices and I chose to better the whole opposed to the one, so all those whimsy dreams of having an opportunity to design elsewhere were flushed down the drain in seconds. All that is left is STYLE FILES, my pathetically sad but fun page where I get to share a few of my ideas that could have been something somewhere….. Slowly updating style files- one of my favorite places to be me and share styles with others- while moving, writing new novels, and completely starting over once again.
